How do I know if I’m a returner?
If you’ve been to summer camp in America before and have a placement at camp already, you are a returner.
Am I eligible to go with Camp Leaders if I used a different agency before?
Yes. Anyone who has previously been a camp counselor or support staff is eligible to apply as a returner, regardless of your previous agency.
If this is my second year, are there any visa restrictions?
No. As long as you meet the background check criteria there are no visa restrictions for 2nd-year returners.
If I'm returning for my third-year (or more), will I be able to get a J1 visa?
The U.S. Department of State has put restrictions in place to limit the number of returners who have been to camp for 2 summers or more. If this summer will be your third summer or more please apply as soon as possible as spaces are limited.
